Matsumoto Trading started out as a wholesaler of pharmaceuticals in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district under the name "Iwashiya." The date was 1663, just as things had begun settling down to normal under the new Shogunate government. Over three hundred years later, we have achieved a record worthy of a general trader in chemicals.
We now deal with a wide range of chemicals and are offering more and more products as the years go on. The speed of change in the 21st Century business environment is revolutionary. It requires immediate responses to diverse needs.
That means we must have the ability to get the right information, then have the mental agility it takes to envision ways of meeting the unceasing flow of customer needs and transform the vision into actual marketable products. It is also important to be able to develop information in a way that leads to originality in product planning.
One deals with these issues by taking the handling of information very seriously. Another point is that our company has manufacturing capability. We acquired it so that when we perceive a need we can translate it accurately and quickly into a product.
